I grew up in a house where the strange and the scientific lived side by side, even before I had language for either one. When I was five, I saw my grandfather in my playroom and described him in perfect detail, even though he had passed away years earlier. To me it was normal.
That house held many mysteries. Some were gentle, some were unsettling, and some were downright terrifying. There was the man who watched from the top of the stairs, the entity we called George who made himself known in the most inconvenient ways, and all the little moments that told me the world was larger and stranger than what we could measure.
At the same time, I was falling in love with science. I spent my summers in science camps, later teaching them, learning how the world worked through patterns, numbers, and experiments. I chased formulas with the same excitement that I chased ghost stories. Tarot decks lived on my bookshelves long before I ever learned to read them. I never saw these interests as opposites. They felt like two versions of the same curiosity.
As I grew older, that curiosity became my career. I earned degrees in mathematics and biology, then completed my Master of Public Health. I worked for a Physician Assistant program during the pandemic, and eventually moved into a PhD program in Biomathematics focused on infectious disease modeling.
Somewhere along the way, I realized that my day job was a sophisticated, socially acceptable form of divination. Scientists build models to understand the unseen, predict the future, and interpret patterns we cannot observe with the naked eye. Witchcraft does the same thing through a different language. That realization changed everything.
It reminded me that science is not the opposite of spirituality. Science is a method for asking questions about the unknown. Magic is another method. Both search for meaning. Both reveal patterns. Both help us understand ourselves and the world a little more clearly.
Returning to tarot, energy work, and witchcraft felt like coming back to a part of myself I had misplaced. My scientific brain did not get in the way of my craft. It sharpened it. It gave me new ways to see the patterns inside intuition, spellwork, and everyday life.
Now I bring those two worlds together. I help witches who think like I do strong in logic, hungry for meaning, fascinated by the unseen discover that their mind is not a barrier to magic. It’s the key.

Outside of my work, you’ll often find me with a cup of tea, wandering Irish sea cliffs, or happily switching between science journals and spell books. These little rituals keep me grounded and remind me that everyday life can be just as magical as a tarot spread.
